When God Calls You Into The Wild: Trusting the Leap of Faith

There are moments in life when something greater starts stirring in your heart. Call it God, the Universe, divine timing—whatever speaks to you. For me, it’s God. And when He calls, I feel it deep in my soul. A tug, a whisper, sometimes a full-on push in a direction that doesn’t always make sense.

Lately, I’ve felt that call. A knowing that life is about to change. It has to. That I’m being asked to step out in faith—even if I can’t see the road ahead. And if I’m honest, it’s scary as hell.

So, I decided to unplug and take a break. We packed up for a road trip through Oregon in a borrowed camper—no bathroom, no shower, just the essentials—and set off into the unknown. For me this trip wasn’t to escape, but to connect. To listen. To get quiet enough to hear whatever it is that’s been trying to speak through the noise.

Oregon delivered. The Columbia River Gorge felt like a cathedral carved by time. Waterfalls thundered down cliffs like sacred poetry. Latourell. Wahclella. Multnomah. Each one a wild reminder that beauty can come from surrender—and that sometimes, you have to fall to move forward.

That tiny camper didn’t offer luxury, but it gave space—real space—to reflect. To slow down. To feel the weight of transition and still say yes to it.

I had dirt under my nails and clarity in my heart. No, I still don’t know how everything will unfold. But I know this: the same God that paints the skies and fuels the rivers is guiding me, too. And I trust Him.

If you’re feeling that same pull—if life is asking you to take a leap—know this: you don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to say yes. To faith. To change. To the journey.

Even if your “yes” starts with a shaky step from a camper with no bathroom.

Because God (or the Universe, or whatever you choose to call it) doesn’t promise easy—but He always promises purpose.
